Right. So I went to the Payne Center’s Fitness Assessment Center here on USM’s campus to get a Body Fat Analysis done for one of my classes. I had one done last semester and decided to compare the two – just to get a clearer picture of my progress.
September 20, 2006 ………………………………………….March 28, 2007
TOTAL WEIGHT 172 lbs ……………………………………..180 lbs
BODY FAT (%) 39.0 …………………………………………….30.2
BODY FAT WEIGHT 67.1 lbs …………………………….54.4 lbs
LEAN WEIGHT 104.9 lbs ………………………………….125.6 lbs
WATER WEIGHT 78.0 lbs …………………………………93.4 lbs
PROTEIN/MINERAL WEIGHT 26.9 lbs ………………32.2 lbs
TRICEP SKINFOLD 41.5 mm ……………………………27.0 mm
BELLY SKINFOLD 31.0 mm……………………………. 26.0 mm
THIGH SKINFOLD 47.5 mm ……………………………32.0 mm
All of my “bad numbers” are down and all of my “good numbers” are up! Yeah!
Even though I have gained 8 lbs since last September, this is not fat weight, but muscle mass and protein (lean) body weight – which is a very good thing!
Last September, it was suggested based on my analysis that I should lose between 23-33 lbs of body weight. This morning, it was suggested based on my analysis that I should lose between 1-13 lbs of body weight. 1-13 lbs!!!! I can TOTALLY do this! I realize that I’ll never be “skinny”. It’s just not in my bone structure. And that’s OK – I’m working hard and feel really, really good about myself and am getting healthier all the time. That’s what matters in my book – and I hope yours too!
